The next morning after the Athens Authentic Marathon there was no alarm, my body deserved a rest. Yet, my partner and I only had two full days left in Athens, so we wanted to explore as much as my legs would allow us.

The First Marathon: Athens, Part 1.
I arrived in Athens, one of the world’s oldest cities, late on November 9, 2018, which meant that the next day, the day before the race on Sunday, November 11, would be dedicated to heading to the Athens Authentic Marathon expo to pick up a race bib and have plenty of rest and loads of food. It didn’t exactly go that way.
Sākums | The Beginning.
Sakums or the beginning of this story depends on where I want to go with it. There have been many seeds that eventually grew into the Run to Plant Trees initiative. I have always enjoyed running, even when I was in school and we had to do laps to warm up before PE class.
